About Us

The Sai Prema Foundation Fiji is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) and a registered Charitable Organisation under the Charitable Trust Act of Fiji, founded to serve the poor, underprivileged and needy people of Fiji through Medicare, Educare and Sociocare initiatives.  

The Foundation was officially launched by then Acting Prime Minister of Fiji, Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on 19th August 2016. The Foundation is working in association with the Government of Fiji on various initiatives in complementing their projects and policies in fulfilling a need in society.  

The foundation is made up of: 

1. A Board of Trustees: Mr. Mahendra Tappoo, Mrs. Maya Tappoo, Mr. Rajendra Kumar & Mr. Kamlesh Tappoo

2. The Foundation Director: Mr. Sumeet Tappoo

3. An Executive Committee: Mr. Pratin Lal, Mr. Remal Tappoo & Dr. Krupali Tappoo

4. An International Advisory Board: Sadhguru Sri Madhusan Sai (leading a global mission of healthcare, educare and sociocare projects and initiatives), Mr. Isaac Tigrett (Original founder of Hard Rock Café), Mr. Arvind Thiagarajan (US-based Scientist and Protégé for Late Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam), Mr. C Sreenivas (Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust which runs the Sanjeevani Hospitals in India), Mr. B N Narasimha Murthy (Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence) and Dr. David Cornsweet (Clinical Psychologist and Director of the Grumpert Foundation USA).

Our Vision

The vision of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani children’s free hospital is to emerge and be the most important paediatric cardiac care centre for the whole of Fiji and the south pacific island nations.

The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital’s Three-Pronged Approach:

1. Preventive Medicine
2. Predictive Medicine
3. Precision Medicine

The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital’s Five-Point Plan

1. To serve the children of Fiji and the Pacific with compassionate healthcare completely free of cost.
2. To ultimately have a permanent team of Surgeons, Doctors, Nurses and Medical professionals based at the Hospital with the assistance of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals India.
3. To embark upon a program to prevent congenital issues through early intervention initiatives and screenings beginning with pregnant mothers as well as undertaking other preventative healthcare programs focussing on NCD’s.
4. To implement genetic study and research as a part of this Hospital to ascertain the reasons for the alarmingly high rates of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in the region.
5. To roll out the provision of a multitude of other speciality services by engaging leading healthcare professionals from around the world.
